- 제목 : Soft Sensing Systems for Intelligent Platforms — From Unmanned aerial vehicles to Biomedical wearables
- 초록 : The emergence of soft robotics has brought out new approaches to building better intelligent systems, including robots and wearable computers. Leveraging the compliance of materials and mechanisms, soft robotics—encompassing sensors, actuators, and either interconnected or integrated systems—offers incredible adaptability to intelligent systems interacting with their surroundings, leading to enhanced performance in environments where traditional rigid systems fall short. However, limited progress in system-level integration restricts the scope of many promising applications in soft robotics as well as their potential for real-world deployment. This talk will outline my strategies to develop soft sensing systems for small uncrewed aerial vehicles (sUAVs) and wearable devices. Results include the design and key characteristics of a soft capacitive strain sensor, its integration into an array with onboard computation, and the in-flight performance of the sensing systems while mounted on a sUAV. These sensing systems demonstrate strong potential to enhance performance and adaptability for sUAVs in real-world scenarios. Following this, the talk will turn to smart device-assisted wearables, with a focus on electrogoniometry systems. I will provide a brief overview of their technical details and essential features that contribute to improved user experiences and therapeutic outcomes, including capabilities for long-term, continuous operation and a unique calibration method enabling standalone use.
